Crusaders Split Duties Across Texas

IRVING, Texas – The Crusaders split up this past weekend for two meets, with athletes facing both record-breaking moments and tough conditions.

Alexander Bozhilov led the way at the Lumberjack Invitational hosted by Stephen F. Austin, breaking his own school record in the 5000 meters with an impressive time of 14:49.47. Bozhilov was the top Division III finisher and placed 4th overall, continuing to raise the bar in a standout season.

The Crusaders split the squad and competed the following day at the Jet Relays Soul Festival, where high heat became a major factor. Despite the tough running conditions, Brennan McNamara clocked a 19:25.95 in the 5000 meters, with teammates Abby Garcia (23:26.82), Ally Leonesio (24:26.26), and Therese Schroeder (25:25.92) pushing through the elements.

Freshman Maya Prochnow had a breakout day, notching huge personal records in both the long jump (4.81 meters) and triple jump (9.46 meters), proving her versatility and potential in the field.

The weekend showcased a mix of grit, growth, and resilience—reminding the team of the highs and challenges that come with the outdoor season.
