Mean Green Invite Hosts Crusaders

DENTON, Texas - The Crusaders set out to Mean Green territory this weekend and was met with tough running conditions and unfavorable elements.

The weather played a major role in creating an off day for the athletes, with high winds and unfavorable conditions impacting both performances and participation. As a result, TFFRS results were unreliable and won't be followed for this meet. Several athletes had to make adjustments, including freshman Ally Leonesio, who earned a personal record of 21:55.43 in her race but had to withdraw from pole vault due to the wind. Freshman Alex Bozhilov secured a strong 6th-place finish with a time of 15:14, while Brennan McNamara unfortunately had to pull out of the 5,000 meters due to illness.

The tough weather also affected freshman Maya Prochnow, who scratched from the triple jump but still managed to earn a personal record in the long jump with a mark of 4.35 meters. Despite the challenges, the team found small victories and showed resilience through the conditions. The day served as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of outdoor competition and the importance of adapting and pushing forward, even when things don't go as planned.
