Crusaders end weekend on high note

LONGVIEW, Texas – The University of Dallas women's basketball team fell 78-69 to LeTourneau on January 30 at Solheim Arena.

The Crusaders opened the night competing hard, scoring 18 points in the first quarter but trailed 26-18 after one. Dallas stayed within striking distance in the second, entering halftime down 41-37 behind strong rebounding and second-chance opportunities.

LeTourneau created separation in the third quarter, outscoring UDallas 20-8, and despite a late push in the fourth, the Crusaders were unable to complete the comeback.

Dallas finished the night shooting 36.2 percent from the field, adding 14 second-chance points and 26 points in the paint, while pulling down 48 total rebounds.

Top Performers – Game One

  • Gabriella Barrera led UDallas with 20 points, hitting 4-of-10 from three-point range while adding six rebounds and five assists.

  • Isabelle Chevalier contributed 16 points and five rebounds, adding a steal on the defensive end.

  • Lexi Arzate recorded a double-figure effort with 14 points and 16 rebounds, including seven offensive boards.


SHREVEPORT, Louisiana – Dallas returned to the court on January 31, securing a 65-59 victory over Centenary at the Gold Dome.

The Crusaders jumped out quickly, building a 20-8 lead after the first quarter behind efficient shooting and active defense. After Centenary closed the gap in the second, Dallas held a 38-30 advantage at halftime.

Both teams traded baskets in the third, but the Crusaders closed strong in the fourth, going 7-of-10 from the free-throw line down the stretch to seal the win.

UDallas finished shooting 38.9 percent from the field and 43.5 percent from three-point range, while recording 38 rebounds and forcing 12 turnovers.

Top Performers – Game Two

  • Isabelle Chevalier paced the Crusaders with 21 points, adding five rebounds and three assists in 37 minutes.

  • Gabriella Barrera chipped in 14 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

  • Sarah Mirza provided a key spark off the bench with 15 points, knocking down 3-of-3 from three-point rangeand adding three steals.

The Crusaders will return home briefly to face Ozarks on February 2 as SCAC play continues.
