AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Dallas men's basketball team fell 96-79 to Concordia (TX) on Friday at Concordia Fieldhouse.
The Crusaders shot efficiently in the first half, hitting 60.9 percent from the floor and trailing just 42-38 at the break. Dallas moved the ball well and generated quality looks inside, staying within striking distance through the opening 20 minutes.
Concordia seized control in the second half behind strong perimeter shooting, outscoring UDallas 54-41 after halftime. Despite continuing to score at a steady clip, the Crusaders were unable to slow the Tornados' momentum late.
Dallas finished the game shooting 51.8 percent overall, scoring 38 points in the paint and getting 31 points from its bench.
Top Performers – Game One
Hadrian Reitsma led Dallas with 19 points off the bench, knocking down four 3-pointers.
Johny Olmsted added 18 points and a team-high six assists, going 10 of 13 at the free-throw line.
Kris Burgan chipped in 12 points and six rebounds in 16 minutes.
SEGUIN, Texas — Dallas dropped a 63-61 decision to Texas Lutheran on Saturday at Memorial Gym in a tightly contested finish.
The Crusaders struggled offensively in the first half, shooting 29.6 percent and trailing 29-21 at halftime. Dallas responded after the break, hitting 50 percent from the field and 60 percent from 3-point range to climb back into the game.
UDallas made a late push behind improved spacing and timely shooting, but the Bulldogs held on in the final minutes. Dallas finished with a 39-29 rebounding edge but managed just one point off turnovers.
Top Performers – Game Two
Johny Olmsted scored 18 points in 39 minutes.
Kris Burgan posted 14 points, eight rebounds and two blocks while playing all 40 minutes.
Hadrian Reitsma added 17 points off the bench, going 6 of 7 from the free-throw line.
