IRVING, Texas — The University of Dallas men's basketball team dropped an 81-63 decision to Schreiner University on Friday evening at the Maher Athletic Center.
The Crusaders (9-14, 5-8 SCAC) stayed within reach in the opening half, shooting 50 percent from the floor and trailing just 37-32 at the break. Johny Olmsted paced the offense early as UDallas generated 38 points in the paint and kept the game tight with balanced scoring.
Schreiner (11-12, 8-5 SCAC) pulled away in the second half, shooting 60 percent after halftime and finishing at 53.1 percent for the game. The Mountaineers controlled the glass with a 43-23 rebounding edge and scored 40 bench points to create separation over the final 20 minutes.
UDallas shot 47.4 percent overall and received 30 points from its bench but was limited to five second-chance points.
Top Performers – Game One
Johny Olmsted led UDallas with 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting.
Evan Herrera added 13 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Finley Montoya chipped in seven points on 3-of-5 shooting off the bench.
IRVING, Texas — Dallas fell 110-92 to McMurry University on Saturday afternoon in a high-scoring contest at the Maher Athletic Center.
The Crusaders (9-15, 5-9 SCAC) shot an impressive 58.1 percent in the first half and trailed 53-44 at intermission. UDallas continued its offensive efficiency after the break, finishing the game at 55.7 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from beyond the arc.
Despite the strong shooting performance, McMurry capitalized at the free-throw line, converting 28-of-31 attempts, and shot 57.4 percent overall. The War Hawks used key scoring runs midway through the second half to maintain control.
UDallas totaled 40 points in the paint and 29 bench points while assisting on 22 made field goals.
Top Performers – Game Two
Luke Paton poured in 33 points on 11-of-13 shooting, including 3-of-4 from three-point range and 8-of-9 at the line.
Johny Olmsted recorded 20 points and seven assists in 36 minutes.
Finley Montoya contributed 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting, knocking down three triples.
