IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas men's soccer team defeated Randall University 3-2 Friday evening at Crusader Field, earning its third victory of the season in front of the Alumni and Family Weekend crowd.
The Crusaders jumped out to an early lead just 12 seconds into the match when Blake Lehman found the back of the net off an assist from Bayden Pitts. Randall responded less than a minute later to level the match at 1-1.
UDallas regained the lead in the 39th minute when the Crusaders found the net on a team goal, taking a 2-1 advantage into halftime.
The Crusaders extended their lead early in the second half when Joseph Aziz converted a penalty kick in the 52nd minute to make it 3-1.
Randall answered just over two minutes later with a goal from Erick Rozo, but the UDallas defense held firm the rest of the way to secure the 3-2 victory.
UDallas goalkeeper Kabe Bylaw recorded four saves in the victory. Randall held a 13-7 advantage in shots, while UDallas put three shots on target.
With the victory, the Crusaders improve to 3-3-0 on the season.
